COSMOPOLITAN SALON vs. HEAVEN'S BEAUTY SALON & SPA

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

I really want to have a nice, smooth and straight hair but I don't have enough money back then for this hair treatment.

September 2009, My sisters gave me money for my first hair rebonding. My hair didn't got any treatment even hair relax and digital perming except for hair spa years ago.( In short, I have a virgin hair ^^ ) I decided to go to Cosmopolitan Salon - Dapitan branch

Their rebond with washable cellophane costs P1500. Having cellophane is a must so hair will not become brittle/damaged.

I got treated for 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Even the salon is small, it has many customers especially students. (this branch is near UST). I didn't wash my hair for 3 days and I can clip my hair after 3 months. I know that hair must not be put behind the ear but after 1 month, I did it and my hair is still straight.

The staff said that I must have it power dosed or I have to get my hair treated every 1 or 2 months so I can maintain my healthy hair but I really didn't follow it. I know that my hair isn't really dry to get those treatments and if it isn't, there are many home made remedies or I can use oil to prevent brittleness/dryness.

I have curly hair when I was a baby, then, I have straight hair during pre-school until the 6th grade. Then it became wavy during high school until my 3rd college year.

This is my hair 7 months after the treatment. Hair is really a crowning glory and it made a huge difference in my appearance.

My rebonded hair lasted for one year. I got my haircut at Tony and Jacky, a korean salon, so I can grew my hair longer with a style and without having a growing frizzy hair.

I don't want to get my hair rebonded during hot days so I don't get sweat too much. I really waited for November or December.

Three days ago, I decided to get my hair rebonded again. I visited Heaven's Beauty Salon & Spa (Quirino Highway, Sangandaan branch). My elder sister also got her hair rebonded in that salon and she is getting good results. Not only good results but also results in a cheap price. The salon is well maintained. The surroundings look more nicer than most cheap salons. Cosmopolitan has more branches than Heaven's but Heaven's (Novaliches branch) has a bigger space.

I know the picture quality sucked. I used my Ericsson cellphone. I cannot capture the salon's front and also the sign board because it is too bright outside and the phone has no zoom feature.

My elder sister availed rebond w/ permanent cellophane for 1300.

Darn it! I didn't reach their promo period so I got Package 2 - hair rebond w/ permanent cellophane and haircut for P1227.

I ate first at Jollibee. Then, I went to Heaven's at 9am. I was the first customer that day. They got many customers. Majority of them will have hair rebond treatments, foot spa and pedicure because they availed the P1400 package. The salon has a security guard. Most of the staff are male. There are only 4 females including the receptionist. I expect that the two gays will be in the hair cut service but for my mistake, they are in the spa service.

My treatment was finished at 3pm. The salon closes at midnight.

Hair rebonding here costs 750. If w/ permanent cellophane, it costs 1185.

Their 1400 hair rebond package has foot spa, power dose, keratin and other treatments included.

My younger sister also went this morning to get her hair rebonded.

COSMOPOLITAN SALON: near UST dapitan gate.

Pros: accommodating staff, cheap price, popular salon
Cons: the sink makes my neck stiff.

HEAVEN'S BEAUTY SALON & SPA: near Jollibee and Mang Inasal. (see also the pics above so you can get clue about the surroundings)

351 Quirino Highway Brgy Sangandaan, Quezon City
Tel no: 3920309

Pros: more accommodating staff, cheaper price with a nice space and a well maintained ambiance than other cheap salons.

Cons: No magazines or other reading materials. I suggest you should bring something to read or play so you won't get bored.

Civil Service Exam Reviewer Book

 UPDATE!! 12/2010

The results are now available.Congratulations to the passers!

Thank God, I passed the professional exam. :D

Aside from online downloads of civil service reviewers. I found an inexpensive reviewer that REALLY RESEMBLES THE ACTUAL EXAM UNLIKE MSA REVIEWERS. Don't waste money on those kind of reviewers. I bought a photocopy of an MSA reviewer but only few did resemble the actual exam. Difficult questions here aren't worth reviewing.

I took the Civil Service Professional Exam, October 17.

I admit that I really didn't review very well especially the age problems in algebra. I am also weak in vocabulary but this book's questions is really a big help.

The book's cover isn't great unlike the others but the content isn't really garbage.

This is the 2010 edition

The best free online reviewer is this: (I didn't upload this)

Just practice answering questions and you will probably ( definitely ) pass the exam.

Cafe Mary Grace

The reason for not updating within more than one month is being busy on my first job. I cannot leave this blog like this so I will share to you my food/restaurant review.

I ate at Cafe Mary Grace - Trinoma branch, ground floor, near National Bookstore.

My curiosity about a small space with a home style ambiance feeling makes me want to try their desserts. Since I am really a pasta lover, I end up eating pasta and a slice of tiramisu.

They have magazines while you wait. Tables are filled with nice notes/stationeries addressing to Mary Grace.

For pastas, prices ranges from 260+ pesos. The tiramisu slice is P90+

I ate their tiramisu. The taste is okay. I should bought a slice of their mango or strawberry cake instead of this. If you are a coffee addict. This will surely satisfies your appetite.

Their carbonara is so delicious. Their pasta is a thin fettuccine (not the normal wide ones). They cooked it really al dente. The white sauce has bacon bits also and some green vegetable bits.

(Sorry for not having the pics of the food I ate because I didn't have my cellphone that time ^^)

The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Service charge is 8% so it's okay if you will not give them a tip.

If you stumbled in this cafe, Try it! It will be worth your visit and appetite!

Kuroshitsuji II a.k.a Black Butler 2 review (FINAL EP)

Saturday, September 18, 2010

I watched the english subbed the so called last episode/ episode 12 last night.I hope there will really be episode 13 or another season for this.

I expect that Alois and Ciel will have a battle of the wits since watching it from episode 4 but my imagination didn't really came true.

Hannah really is a master planner! I even like her more.

Both Ciel and Alois got a nice ending. Ciel for his revenge accomplished, fulfilled contract and a free ( I mean without having to pay for the wage or salary) butler.  Poor Sebastian, he can't eat Ciel's soul. I also pity Lizzy for being left alone. His servants do really care about him.

For Alois, he can now join Luka, Hannah and Claude. I am glad he made the butlers fight without getting their meal especially Claude. Honestly, I am a fan of Alois Trancy and I really like him. I like the way Yana Toboso created his character. I also like Ciel but in this season I love Alois more and Ciel annoys me a lot. He is a selfish brat.

The whole season is dumber than the previous one. At first, while watching the second season, I got really thrilled and excited every episode because of its unpredictability and plot twist but the ending is like WTF.

I find this dancing part very cute
I know that many hates Lizzy. I think animators really intended to make Lizzy annoying. For me, she is a little bit annoying in the anime and in the manga, she isn't. I still like her and she is really cute and adorable. Her mom, Mrs. Frances Middleford, is also cool and badass.

I prefer the season one because of more detailed plot, characters and the balance of hilarity and seriousness. I really love the curry arc and the introduction of Meirin's, Bard's and Finny's backgrounds.

I expect the ending more cruel and better. It is cool that Ciel turned into a demon but I found the contract stupid and not having an awesome smart way response like I experienced in Code Geass and especially Death Note.
Lelouch, is this you? ^^
This season is like a doujinshi/shounen ai anime made by Yanao Rock.
Yanao Rock is Yana Toboso's pen name when she was making yaoi manga (ex. Glamorous Lip) back then. I also want to read Rust Blaster.

If we do the math here, Ciel's birth date is 14th December 1875 meaning he is 13 years old in the anime. Alois's birthdate is November 5, 1875.

Meaning they are both 13 years old.

I hope it will not be the ending or almost the same in the manga.

I will still read it and like I said in my first blog about Kuroshitsuji 2. The manga is 10x better.

The shounen-ai parts are more on interpretation and fanservice unlike in the second season that the anime is obviously gay. If I am a boy, I'll not consider this as a shounen anime.

Anyway, I'll wait for the Kuroshitsuji OVA release.

Lupin III vs Detective Conan tv special review

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I knew this movie already last year but I just watched this movie last week.

I didn't expect that Lupin and Conan will have battle of the wits because the vs. in japanese movies are more on cooperation/team-up of crossover characters instead of the fights/battles between them.

The whole plot is good. Ran and Princess Mira are totally alike. I thought Goemon will not appear in this movie but at last he did. Detective Mori is dumb as usual. One of my favorite female anime chracters, Fujiko, is really pretty hot and cool.

I really love the scene where Conan is chasing Fujiko and Princess Mira by using his skateboard. His stunts are deathtifying.

What I am not satisfied is Lupin and the gang had already known about Conan's true name and identity without an explanation. I think there must be an explanation because almost the episodes of these two series have explanations behind plans or cases.

Overall the movie is good and really worth watching or buying a copy. A literal vs or battle of the wits between them will be greater.

Fullmetal Alchemist! I really love it!

Friday, August 20, 2010

For those who aren't reading/watching Fullmetal Alchemist in a long time (or who never read or watch it), the manga ended on June 2010 but I haven't watched the anime ending yet although the anime series ended.

I"LL NOT POST SPOILERS C=

read the last chapter online
watch FMA Brotherhood online (subbed and dubbed)

Okay I just posted this today because I decided to remember the past chapters so I will start to read this manga again from chapter 1. This is one of the best series of mangas/animes in my life that were finished besides Yuyu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, Sailormoon and Voltes V.

For those who are not familiar with this series, I'll recommend it and for those who watch anime but aren't really interested, just watch the whole anime or read the whole manga so you can be amazed to the whole story.

RPN 9 and IBC 13

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

I missed watching tv sitcoms, tokusatsu and anime from IBC 13. For me, this station is the best in choosing imported dramas and tv shows. Their Filipino dub is cool and they even change the names of characters in a way that Filipino viewers can relate.

My favorite shows in RPN 9 are John en Marsha, Fiveman, Jiban and Dragonball.

RPN 9's partnership with Solar Entertainment makes the channel air sports events and american shows/movies.

IBC 13 and RPN 9 were used to be the home of the brightest stars and shows back then. I remembered that every time I watch RPN 9, there is always a clock displayed at the bottom left of the screen.

Kwarta o Kahon is one of the most popular game shows hosted by the late Mr. Pepe Pimentel. The prizes were simple such as Yakult and Advan rubber shoes.

Both tv stations were sequestered by the government in the 80s or I think early 90s. Great shows and stars were pirated by ABS CBN 2 and GMA 7.

In the 90s, they still air good shows from other countries such as mexican/spanish telenovelas and anime.

Marimar became a hit when it was aired on RPN 9. This is the reason why telenovelas are popular back then.

Since 2000, IBC 13 has only shown documentaries/news and government propaganda. Basketball is the only popular and interesting show. This station has become the second most boring VHF channel. First is NBN 4.

I heard last night about the government's plan to sell both tv networks. For me this is good news because employees especially the older ones will be more motivated to do their craft. Broadcasting equipments will be new and they can hopefully reign again.

TV 5 is doing good so far. It can now rival the two biggest networks, ABS CBN 2 and GMA 7.

I hope the government will have a buyer that can really manage to have a responsible news reporting. Our Philippine entertainment industry will be flourished and viewers can choose more programs that are suitable to their preferences.

Kuroshitsuji 2 episode 6 raw from Keyhole TV

Friday, August 6, 2010

I have watched this episode earlier this day 1:20 (Japan time) something in the morning Friday which is 12:20 am in the Philippines.

I almost lose hope that MBS would be online because it didn't appeared on my keyhole tv and then I watched an Asuka cosplayer singing a karaoke version of Cruel Angel Thesis. When the clock has stricken at 12:25 am on my time, it became online and then I am able to watch it from the opening credits till the end.

I cannot wait for English subs because i only understand basic Japanese words. ( readers walking away (" _ ).. Hey wait please)

I really love this episode and it is so bad-ass. When the triplets fought Sebastian, it sucked because it didn't show the way or move on how they escaped the ladder attack. Anyway, I really love the fight between Sebastian and Claude.

Meanwhile, inside the manor, Ciel's friends are also really affected by Hannah's musical instrument. I amazed that Agni wasn't affected even he didn't cover his ears. Agni's and Ranmao's fighting is so cool. I also appreciate Prince Soma, Meirin, Bard and Finny for pawning those guests.

I am glad they've shown the clip and a little bit of explanation from the last episode of season 1. I wonder what the agreement between Sebastian and Claude is all about. They even did a blood compact. They used their own blood and roses. I am sure that the paper Sebastian gave to Ciel is all about his own information and the past events so he will regain his memories.

Alois's costume is so cute!
When I watched episode 5, I thought Alois is so gay but when he was in the party, he is a bit of masculine. His attitude isn't only bipolar but also his manners (sexuality I think).

The added excitement in this episode is when Alois courted Elizabeth. It is unexpected. I cannot wait for Alois and Ciel fight for the next week.

Good Luck for the subbers. Thanks for them that we can watch and share this anime.

Nana Mizuki's first single and released song "Tsugazakura" つがざくら

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

In 1993, she released Compact Cassette single "Tsugazakura" (つがざくら lit. "Phyllodoce Nipponica") as "Nana Kondo". However, she passed the audition of game Noël: La Neige and became a seiyuu.

I joined Nana Mizuki Fans on facebook.
Since she is trained as an enka singer, No wonder she sang enka. Her voice is beautiful and I cannot imagine that from listening to jpop, I now listen to her enka song here.

UPDATE AUG 6, 2010: (for those lazy to go to facebook here is her enka performance:)

REDFORD WHITE, DEAD AT 54

Sunday, July 25, 2010

I heard the news that he died today from my older sister. We also checked it on the net.

Here is the article.

http://www.pinoyhalo.com/2010/07/25/redford-white-dead-at-54/

I miss his shows. My favorites are "Buddy en Sol" and also "Hee-Man"

Mr. Redford White, you are the legend!

Nana Mizuki - Beautiful singer and seiyuu

Sunday, July 18, 2010

I became familiar of her when I searched the voice actors/actresses behind the
new characters of Kuroshitsuji II.

Nana Mizuki's biography and discography

By reading about her, I searched her on youtube to find out the reason of her popularity.

I became a fan of her when I watched her music videos on youtube. I cannot believe she is the voice behind Hinata and especially Alois.

Her duet with ALI PROJECT

She looks very young and vibrant. She looks humble in her interviews.

This is one of my favorite music videos/songs of her by kingrecords:

Kuroshitsuji 2 / Kuroshitsuji season 2

Saturday, July 17, 2010

While I am still waiting for episode 3 English subbed, I'll be posting my review about this.

Sorry, my PC is messed up that the text in this article are fucked up.

I watched the first and second episode two days ago. At first, I am lazy to watch this season because the manga is 10x times better. Lizzy/Elizabeth's mom, The Circus Arc and Arthur still rocks!

from the Kuroshitsuji Official site. (This is what I've imagined when they meet)

After I wached Kuroshitsuji 2, I really like it especially when Sebastian and Ciel are still on the season. If not, I'll just watched the first episode because the season looks like a fanfic turned into anime. Also, Alois is a gay (short shorts) psychotic delinquent brat.

I wonder what really happened to them Oo

From crows, there are spiders in this and he obtained the seal on his tongue.

Oh no WTF is this laugh?

More brutal than Hunter X Hunter anime, Bleach and Naruto

Similar to season 1 except that there are three visitors in the Trancy mansion, Alois dislikes his uncle. I found Claude won me with his tap dance.

He is the best actor because of his natural fake smile and loneliness (better than Ciel)

Alois is very interesting to watch than Claude. It gives a refreshing feeling to watch an anime again after Code Geass.
I can't wait to see the episodes. Alois is so young and cute.

I found this scene hilarious. Can I also do that to my uncle who is after the money? Gonna try that.
I am glad Claude didn't join Alois to laugh. He is also like Sebastian who sometimes defies orders.

The stranger who came during the rain/storm is obviously Sebastian but I wondered why he is after the tea.

Yipee!! Sebastian showed again! with
Ciel in a briefcase.
Alois, are you going to _____ Ciel?
Tired of screen caps.

Overall, I like this season and I am really going to watch this till the end. I am more curious about Alois and Claude but I still prefer Sebby and Ciel over them. Besides a great singer, Nana Mizuki did a great work in his boyish voice and it suits to Alois pretty well. I wish they met like this in this 2nd episode opening:

Just enjoy! If you like less shounen-ai stuff and you are into more shounen stuff, just read the Kuroshitsuji manga because it is so different and it is still in 40+ chapters. I read it only in 3 days. You can even read it in less than one week. Can't get enough of reading Alois x Ciel fanfics ^^

Imeem sucks NOW... Grooveshark Rocks!

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Imeem is the coolest online streaming music then. While I am studying or surfing the internet, I visit the site because I can listen to a whole playlist or album. After this, I am interested to buy cds.

Easy interface and fast streaming songs.

On December 8, 2009, this bullshit social networking site called MySpace acquired this my beloved music site. I can't really tell if MySpace saved Imeem from bankruptcy or they just want more profit. Imeem doesn't look like it is going to be bankrupt.

For months, I am not interested in other music sites because they have a complicated and unattractive interface. The streaming is also slow.

Today, while I am reading a document on my pc, I am looking for an online streaming music site and then I found GROOVESHARK.

Attractive and a friendly-user interface w/ fast streaming like Imeem

I am happy that GROOVESHARK exists. Now I can enjoy listening to online music again.

The Aquarium Channel

I don't know if there is still Aquarium Channel in other cable providers in the Philippines but I am curious on how this channel can really earn profit. Is it an affiliate/subsidiary of a cable company?

I watched this channel when I was a kid. I am enjoying myself watching this because we didn't have an aquarium back then.

Do this channel really have sponsors? This can be used as props for visitors and a stress reliever especially if you have a 3d television.

Chiyo Okumura (奥村 チヨ) - Epic music video

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Chiyo Okumura is a popular Japanese pop singer and former fashion model who debuted in the 1960s.
              - Wikipedia

It is better than Koi no Dorei (Slave of Love). This video is in 1970s.

I love her singing style and this music video is so simple. Even without the drama/unnecessary scenes, this is so outstanding.

Koi no Dorei 恋泥棒(Thief of Love)

Noynoy (PNoy) the 15th president and Binay Inauguration

I first saw on the inauguration coverage the part when President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) and President-elect Benigno Aquino III (Noynoy/PNoy) greeted each other and rode inside the luxury car. ( I don't give a shit what kind of car and I wonder how did they manage to be plastic to each other. I think they talked about corruption and her appointed officials).

President GMA and Noynoy stood each other first on Quirino Grandstand before they separate. With the entrance of Noynoy to the stage, comes Jejomar Binay coming from his (electrical jeepney) E-jeep. He looks cool there.

Charice Pempengco sang the national anthem and I am glad she gave it justice. I am sure that the National Historical (Hysterical) Institute will not criticize her.

It seems that Noynoy and Binay are really friends because of how they chat even when singers are performing.

I missed the APO for their nice songs and I am glad they performed also today. Noel Cabangon has the longest stage appearance among the singers so he can fill the remaining time to the exact inauguration schedule which is 11:30 to 12 ( exact oath of the president ).

Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile read the Congress' proclamation of Noynoy and Binay. Mr. Enrile's mind is sharp and he looks healthy in spite of his old age.

At 11:40 ( I don't know if it is exact), the now vice president, Jejomar Cabauatan Binay took his oath and it was administered by Associate Justice Conchita Morales-Carpio.

At 12,  Noynoy took his oath and it was also administered by the same associate justice.

His inaugural speech is about fighting corruption and injustices. He wants a change like the Filipino people. My favorite is he promised there’ll be no “wang wangs” (convoys of stupid officials that use sirens to be given way on roads) and “kotongs” (bribe). He also promised to be a good example and proved it by being on time for the ceremony and stopping on stop lights and not using “wang wangs” for his convoy.

Best of all, I love that he said  "Sa mga nang-api sa akin, kaya ko kayong patawarin at pinapatawad ko na kayo. Sa mga nang-api sa sambayanan, wala akong karapatan na limutin ang inyong mga kasalanan."

and " There can be no reconciliation without justice."

I think his inauguration has the largest crowd compared to the past presidents because those people are Ninoy and Cory supporters while others are sellers of the Noynoy merchandise.

Nevertheless, people (including me) are still optimistic about our country's future

The Adventures of Tintin Movie!!!!!

Monday, June 28, 2010

Recently, when I visited the tintinologist forums and tintin.com, It is really confirmed that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson will be the directors of the Tintin movie.

When I watched the presscon of Steven Spielberg at dailymotion, I am a little bit disappointed because I expected it to be a live-action film. They said they will make a motion capture and 3D of this movie. I prefer the 2D animation for this.

Anyway, I think they will make the movie good because they are respectable directors and they will use advance technology for this. I hope Tintin will not be too americanized. I can't wait for 2011 to watch their tintin movie!

I hope if there will be a live action Tintin movie, the excitement would be like this.

Meiko Kaji: Sasori & Lady Snowblood (KILL BILL)

For KILL BILL fans and Asian film fans, I know that some of you also like Jeon Ji hyun/Gianna Jun, or other asian/cult/ grindhouse actresses.

When I remembered about the 70s especially the pinky violence. I remembered my favorite cult actress which is Masako Ota or known as MEIKO KAJI 梶 芽衣子.

I found out after I watched Hana to Hebi 2. I am curious about the original Hana To Hebi movie and I searched about pinky violence, pink eiga, roman porno and then I clicked a youtube related video to Meiko Kaji.

But still, thanks to Tarantino because Meiko Kaji became more active again in 2005 and fans posted vids and pics on the internet.

My favorite films of hers are:

the greatest exploitation/WIP (women in prison) film:

Lady Snowblood trailer

I have an account on youtube henyongsakuragi and my most viewable video is this:

This is a parody of Bioman called BAOMAN!

I remember the good old days I watched Bioman, Maskman, Shaider and Masked Rider Black (the original not the SABAN's/american version)

Umuwi akong putok ang labi
Umiiyak at may pasa

CHORUS
Sampal at dagok, flying kick at batok
`Di pa tapos, dinagdagan pa nya uli
Kagat ng aso, sipang kabayo
`Di ko na kaya, ayoko na, oh yeah
Mahal ko sya ngunit psycho sya
Mahal ko sya ngunit psycho sya

INTERLUDE

[Repeat CHORUS]

Yeah

AD LIB

[Repeat CHORUS]

Mahal ko sya kahit psycho sya
Mahal ko sya dahil psycho sya

ONE PIECE Strong World Movie (BADASS!!!)

Thursday, June 17, 2010

It is ten months ago (Aug 2009) since I saw the trailer of this movie. The DVD and the english subs aren't still released.

But I cannot really wait to watch this badass movie in English subs.

Zorro is still badass with his badass gun. If he really existed in real life, I really want to be his girlfriend/wife. :)

In this trailer, their costumes are wicked cool!

So I'll be posting a review for this!

K'naan - The now rising Afropop star!

Monday, June 14, 2010

Before the World Cup 2010 came, I am already aware of K'naan. He is a Somali-Canadian poet, rapper, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist.
